Pointed Pen Calligraphy: Engrosser’s Script
Hybrid class with CCSF - Spring 2023
Thursdays, March 9 - May 4, 2023
In-Person sessions: 3/9, 4/6, 5/4 Downtown Campus CCSF, room TBA, 6:00-8:00pm (PDT)
All other sessions meet online from 6:00-7:00pm (PDT)Engrosser’s Script is a formal form of copperplate calligraphy from the turn of the 20th century. It is characterized by bold strokes and graceful curves. These modular strokes make this the perfect script for learning what the pointed pen is truly capable of. This class focuses on improving fine-motor skills and pen control. It is open to all skill levels.
In an effort to transition to the “new normal”, this class will be hybrid. Sessions 1, 5, and 9 will be in person for 2 hours. During these sessions, we will focus on skills that need direct feedback. The in-between sessions will will be held online for 1 hour (less Zoom fatigue). The online format helps ensure you can see exactly what my pen is doing while it makes each letter of the alphabet. This new hybrid format takes advantage of the best of both worlds!
