Sign up hereBlackletter Calligraphy is a great style of lettering to start to explore the world of calligraphy. It consists of equally spaced, dark strokes that create a final page that is more black than white. Though it was developed in the Medieval Era it still has cultural significance today, including famous logos, protest art, and graffiti. In this class, students will learn to write the letterforms of a Blackletter style called Textura Quadrata, and how to put those letterforms together into words & sentences.
City Summer Youth Academy is for students ranging from incoming 6th graders through currently enrolled high school students. CSYA is underwritten by a generous grant from the Wells-Fargo Foundation.
